If you haven’t already heard Ardency’s remix of Phantogram’s track, “Fall In Love”, do yourself a favor and listen to this as soon as possible.
“Fall In Love” was off Phantogram’s 2014 album “Voices” and was arguably the most noteworthy track off of it. The electronic-rock duo from New York fills their music with dynamic rhythms, airy vocals, and other shoe-gazing sounds. “Fall In Love” is the kind of track that appeals to many types of listeners, and in turn has lead to some amazing remixes, including this exceptional one from Ardency.
The duo known as Ardency have been relatively quiet, steadily growing their audience through impressive remixes and originals which incorporate a style they’ve dubbed as “neon 80s” (and appropriately so). Their music can be described as a fantastic blend between 80s-styled synths and the newer, chiller styles of electronic dance music which the two have been sharing through remixes of ‘indie’ bands like Local Natives and Phantogram. It might be considered somewhat of a mix between Daft Punk and Kavinsky, with the impressive flair of artists like Flume and Louis The Child.
Regardless of how to describe it, their music itself speaks volumes already. Really loving what they’ve done with this track, and really loving what they’ve done so far. Hoping to see more neon 80s soon..
